Easy magic is just that, Not complicated, but YOU are the key player, not the trick. Many tricks are so simple you would think anyone can see through them. Not so… people will see what you want them to see, and not what really happens.

Often a simple and easy magic trick, performed on the street, can be more amazing that a slick show on TV.

You can check the set-up, there is no chance of anything hidden happen where the camera is not looking.

This makes it possible to impress and astound your friend!. When you watch an entertainer on the street make a coin disappear, you are standing right up to him. Since you can look at everything, and walk around him, you think you can see there’s no hidden trap doors or cabinets, for example.

It defies common sense that you cannot have his magic tricks revealed!

You can do the same. The key secret in a magic trick is this – it is the magician himself!

The absolute majority of magic tricks have been practised for a very long time, sometimes they are so old no-one knows when they first were done. And when a trick – any trick, is broken down in detail – the trick itself is usually not complicated at all.

The secret lies in how the performer – you! – do it! How the trick is performed is what makes it “impossible”.

You can have someone name a number, after which you pull out card after card from the pack. When the proposed number is up, you pull out an ace! No matter what number is said this will happen.

The secret is ever so simple – the ace should be at the bottom of the cards, held by your little finger. You will naturally need to practise this. To have your magic tricks revealed by mistake, because you are clumsy and drop the card, is not very magical …

Just as important is to keep the attention of the audience distracted – have you noticed how stage magicians keep on talking.

This is very much like what happens if you drive a car and talk on your mobile at the same time. It has been proven that people react slower.

Probably the brain can only focus effectively on one thing at any one time, and that is what will help fool your audience.

But remember – magic tricks revealed lose their magic! Do keep them to yourself, and only discuss them with a fellow magician!
